LANDSCAPING SOLUTIONS DESIGN SERVICES AND PROCESS
INITIAL CONSULTATIONAND PROPOSAL; once you make an enquiry, we will arrange to visit at a convenient time. During this visit we will discuss your existing garden, your aspirations for the new garden, the practicalities of realising them, the kind of materials we might use and the plants that are to be introduced. We will then go away and work up a plan, based on the ideas we have discussed, of how to make your aspirations a reality. This plan will take the form of a report including a summary of our consultation, our recommendations going forward and our costing structure.
SITE SURVEYING; once we have agreed on a plan of action, we will return to visit the garden in order to carry out a survey. This is a critical element in the process and will be conducted in detail. We will look at your garden’s soil type, assess which areas receive sun and shade, work out the various levels and make a note of any trees, buildings and other features that will influence the final design.
DESIGN PLANS; at this point everybody begins to feel the excitement. We blend the data collected during the site survey with the discussions we had during our consultation, throw in handful of creative flair and present you with a detailed scale plan of your new garden along with a set of perspective sketches of any features that we feel require further elucidation. You might want to accept the proposals right away, mull them over for a week or two or get us to tweak them here and there. Whatever you want to do with them, once you are happy with the finished plan, you let us know and we will provide a construction costing based on the design.
PLANTING PLANS; following the approval of the design we will want to look at drawing up a detailed planting plan. This will include the type and quantity of all the plants that are to be introduced to the garden and their locations. Once you have agreed on the final planting scheme, a cost for the supply and introduction of the plants will be provided.
Once all the proposals have been accepted the next and most exciting phase can begin...the creation of your dream garden.
Because we are an integrated design and build company we do not charge for many of the additional services associated with garden designers. Our fees for sourcing plants, site visits and project management are all included within the build package so that you don’t receive any hidden surprises!
